HOUSE ISLAND, MAINEHISTORY ROOTED COASTAL ROMANCE
NOVEMBER 2019THE STORYMargo and Colin met in April 2015 through a mutual friend at work and were immediately drawn to one another. They went on their first date nearly six months later in Boston, where an evening of laughter and easy conversation set the tone for what was to come. For Margo, Colin’s contagious smile made her feel instantly at ease. For Colin, their shared love of sailing, the water, and similar career paths made the connection feel natural from the start. Years later, Colin proposed in Kauai at a secluded beach in Polihale State Park, a quiet and beautiful moment that reflected their steady, easy bond.

THE VISIONThe couple chose House Island for its setting in Casco Bay and its close proximity to Portland, drawn to its ability to capture the Maine coast at its finest. The ocean holds deep meaning for both of them, with Margo growing up in Falmouth spending summers sailing in the area, and Colin feeling most at home on the water after growing up sailing on the coast of Florida.
Their vision was to share a true Maine summer coastal wedding with their guests, rooted in the landscape they both love and shaped by a setting that felt naturally connected to their lives and memories on the water.
