HOUSE ISLAND, MAINE

HISTORY ROOTED COASTAL ROMANCE

AUGUST
THE DESIGN & EXPERIENCE

Margo and Colin envisioned a celebration that felt timeless, elegant, and unmistakably Maine. Drawing inspiration from the coastlines that shaped both of their lives, they wanted guests to experience the beauty of Casco Bay while enjoying a wedding weekend centered on connection, hospitality, and meaningful moments with family and friends.

The design embraced classic coastal New England style with a refined black-tie sensibility. Historic architecture, ocean views, candlelit dining, and thoughtful personal details created an atmosphere that felt sophisticated without feeling formal. Guests traveled by vintage trolley and ferry boat, turning the journey itself into part of the experience and highlighting the unique setting of House Island.

From a traditional cathedral ceremony to dancing beneath the stars overlooking the water, every element was designed to celebrate the couple's love of the coast and the people who have shaped their story. The result was a wedding that felt elegant, joyful, and deeply rooted in place.

Accessible primarily by boat, the island combines sweeping ocean views, historic charm, and a sense of exclusivity that creates an unforgettable guest experience.

Planning a wedding on House Island requires careful coordination of transportation, guest arrivals, vendor logistics, weather contingencies, and waterfront operations. Ferry transportation becomes an integral part of the celebration, allowing guests to experience Maine's coastline while creating a memorable transition from the mainland to the reception.

For couples seeking a venue that feels private, scenic, and uniquely Maine, House Island offers an extraordinary setting. With panoramic views of Casco Bay, historic buildings, waterfront ceremony locations, and the feeling of being transported to another world just minutes from Portland, it provides a wedding experience unlike any other in New England.
